Job Description
As part of a long term project with Mission Charity OMS we took on the brief of designing a new website for their UK work. Having an established website to promote OMS globally the charity director felt that it was important to present specific events and information on the web directed at a UK audience. The brief was to present the information and images in a way that was suitable for the charity’s older target audience but at the same time introduce ideas that would be relevant to a younger audience of 16 to 30’s. It was also important for the charity to be able to update information on certain pages on a regular basis including text and images. The resultant site www.omsinternational.co.uk is a creative mix of content managed areas, information pages and quirky touches to suit a wide target audience, as requested. Keeping certain pages static reduced the amount of management required but with a bespoke content management system OMS have the ability to update specific elements of the site quickly and easily. Areas such as opportunities and stories from people across the globe can be quickly included or amended with images to complement the text. Creatively areas such as the world map on ‘Where in the World’ and the photograph viewer in ‘Opportunities’ allowed us to be inventive with the information we were provided with. As a result OMS have a site that remains up to date, provides an excellent source of information and offers fun elements to enhance the visiting experience.
